Hunters Grindhouse Experience
LA
Winter 2020
Amazon
Brand experience agencies Campfire and The Mill asked me to create visuals for an event promoting Amazon Studios’ new Prime Video original drama series Hunters. The experience, located in Highland Park, Los Angeles, was inspired by the show’s story of a Nazi-hunting group in 1977 New York.

Immersive 1970s Transformation

The event completely turned a block of Highland Park in LA into gritty 1977 New York—complete with vintage cars, costumed 70s characters, and “Three-card Monte” vendors lining the streets. Highland Theatre became “The Empire,” a true grindhouse-style screening venue.

Guests enjoyed custom popcorn boxes, soda cups, and retro snacks—all styled in the show’s 1970s aesthetic.

Across the road, Highland Park Bowl was rebranded as 'Hunters Alley,' making attendees feel like they had stepped inside the world of Hunters.

Drawing from the show’s graphic-novel tone, our visuals leaned into bold comic-book iconography that mirrors Hunter Jonah’s own obsessions.

At the end of each bowling lane, oversized custom banners showcased the show's main characters, turning the alley into a cinematic gallery.

Along the walls, graphic posters with cryptic messages and symbols added intrigue, inviting guests to decode hidden clues about the story and its mysterious cast.

Storytelling That
Feeds Fandom

The event let fans play in the Hunters story: from secret “spy” decoders to Coney Island performers. It wasn’t a typical screening—It wasn’t your typical screening—it was something people wanted to talk about, post about, and be a part of.
